There is a difference between “fixing” things and making them “not broken.”
A friend of mine (Dana!), broke the inside handle of the door to the OldsmoBuick.
I had a hunch that I could fix it with some zip-ties. I wasn’t exactly right, because I didn’t “fix” the door, but I did make it work again, so it is no longer, “broken.” I feel this is an important distinction.
American Engineering has reached new heights (lows?).
